My new brace face

Today was such an exciting day for Haley. She has wanted braces for a long time. I think she associated braces with being grown up, as of tonight she is associating them with pain.

Haley begged me not to have her sister's there. Her Sister's begged me to watch the whole thing. We compromised and they got to watch them put on the 1st two braces. They were so interested in what was going on they were practically down her throat.

I have braces! They are so painful! just wait until she gets powerchains & new wires--they hurt more than when you first get them on! I will facebook you some recipes that are delicious and super easy to eat with braces...I cant eat normally for 2 weeks after every appointment!

Haley, I feel for you! I used to eat a big meal just before every braces appointment because afterwards my teeth hurt so much. McDonalds milkshakes were my friend and so were straws. I bumped my teeth against the rim of the glass more times than I can recall and that really hurt. The good news is that braces have given me a smile that I am proud of. I hope the same is true for you.

We have a tradition of going directly from the orthodontic appointment to a fast food place. The victim gets to order whatever they want as it will probably be the last big meal they eat for a day or two. Last trip was five Wendy’s chicken sandwiches and a chocolate frosty.

Oh good luck to Haley!

I'm afraid we're going to be making at least two trips down that road...Lindsey and Hailey are both missing two teeth on the top, so they have some work cut out for their mouths!

Oh, and I got your moving postcard today in the mail. Very clever! I really liked it!

I love how intrigued they all were. So cute. Haley officially looks like a teenager...yikes eh? Taylor gets her braces off in a month I can't even believe it went by that fast!
