Pressure cooking
Today I canned 35 pints of this item with a friend... any idea what this is?
At this friends house (not naming names to protect the innocent) I LOVE the consequences they have posted on their kitchen wall:
This is brilliant!
I am especially fond of "If you feel you have been treated unfairly, give us a written grievance"... having to articulate your feelings in writing rather then just follow me around wining- LOVE IT!

Oooh, I like your friends!!
I'm going to guess chicken, even though I know you hate working with meat.
My guess would be chicken too though it does look a little like pizza dough. But who would can that?
You guys are both right they are chicken breasts. They look like dead human flesh in specimen jars, so I hid them from the family. I know they will not eat it if they know it looked like this!
Fyi- I tasted her canned chicken before I decided to can it... it was amazing. Super tender. You just fill the jar with chicken and add a half teaspoon of salt, then pressure cook it for about 2- that's it. So good!
I would guess chicken or turkey. Good for you! I heard you can can cheese, putting it in a warm water bath until it melts and then put the lids & rings on it and either put it upside down or boil it, then when you open it, you have solid cheddar cheese. Crazy huh?
I LOVE Those consequences. I wonder how I will lay down the law, so to speak, when my kids are older. I love seeing how other people do it. I literally take notes when I see things as great as this!
This is GENIUS! I already had Owen write, "I will be kind" multiple times this evening! Also, I imagine the Borg Boys will be doing their fair share of push-ups ... Love the "written grievance" bit, too. I am always trying to come up with reasons for my kids to write. :)
I have had so much fun catching up on the Palmers! Love the new house and the chicks and your girls. Chanel, I miss you! Come see us next time you pass this way. Give Eric and your whole gang a big hello from the Borgies.
