Holy cow!

I have wanted to talk about this for sooo long

(it's really hard for me to keep a secret)

but as of today it's official... Eric and I bought the farm!

Here is the view from our new kitchen window!

It's an older home but it has a ton of property and incredible views. With all this land I think we need some outside animals... hmmm, what to get?

How about 4 yellow chicks... named butter, banana, pineapple and cheese and 4 brown spotted chicks named brownie, syrup, smore and chocolate.

They are temporary hanging out in our laundry room until Eric finishes their super swanky Casa de coop, I can't wait!

***Edit*** Eric just read this post and said "We don't have a ton of land... just 5 acres". To me, 5 acres is a ton of land.

Oh. My. Gosh. I am so jealous I can't even begin to tell you! When can we move to Oregon and have a ton of property??!! Wahhh!
Whoa! I mean, Wow! I am so incredibly happy for you guys!! How exciting! :)

This is awesome! Good for you. Does in increase Eric's commute?

Shonda,
We just bought this house to get you guys up here to visit us!

Sig-It's only a few blocks up from where we used to live so it may add a couple of minutes to his commute.

As for the rats- I grew up hating rats because they would eat holes in our Xmas decorations stored in the garage. Occasionally our cat would drag a dead one in the house to show us his kill. I never thought in a thousand years I would have 2 living (pampered lives) in my home. You do what you need to with the ones at your house, just don't tell me the details.

Does this mean you sold the condo?? How exciting for you guys!

Jenny-
I wish we had sold the condo! We still have it but luckily we have a renter that is paying the bill.

CONGRATS! That is so awesome Chanel! I am trying to find somewhere to buy organic chicken meat. I can find eggs, but no meat. So, if you get into the business of selling free range, organic chicken (as in boneless, skinless...) let me know:). You are a serious renaissance couple! I can't wait to hear what you guys come up with next!

Congratulations!! Are you already moved in?

Congratulations!! That is awesome! The chicks are sooo cute!

We are home shopping right now too, and I have my fingers crossed that we will get the one I want. There are so many icky overpriced homes here!!!

Tasha-
The funny thing is we are not into organic foods at all. I actually walk past the huge organic sections of the market looking for the cheep regular produce. I am excited about having fresh eggs, but I can't imagine eating our pets.

Congrats! Can't wait to see what color eggs your hens produce. I know, I'm geeky that way. I said the same thing to Kaycee. I just love that some come out already dyed in the most beautiful colors.
